Airboat Rides

Frequently Asked Questions

What can i expect on my Everglades airboat ride?

A once in a lifetime journey

Capt. Greg Brown will be your host and guide on an Everglades Airboat Tour of a lifetime. Your "Flight" will allow you to see nature at its purest in the unspoiled habitat of the Beautiful Florida Everglades. This unspoiled River of Grass, sawgrass scattered with tree islands, makes up most of the interior of the Florida Everglades. The open marshes are flooded during the summer, rainy season, but are dryer in the late winter and spring. Here and there over the 'glades are ponds and deeper channels that hold permanent water. The smaller pools are often refered to as "gator holes" and the larger drainage channels are called "sloughs". The sloughs and gator holes provide dry season refuges for fish, snails and crayfish and are often focal points for winter concentrations of alligators, birds and mammals.

What do i need to bring for my trip?

These are necessities, not just 'nice to have items'

For Airboating purposes Florida has only two seasons: Summer & Winter Always consider, high humidity means a greater wind chill factor!

Summer Time Weather: June - September

1. Sun block that does not burn your eyes...
2. Hat to wear when your airboat is not moving...
3. Polarized sunglasses, so you can see the gators and fish under the surface...
4. Change of clothes, just in case you slip on a gator and make a big splash!
5. Rain coats, if you want to stay dry...
6. Wind breaker, if you tend to get chills - The Air temperature can drop 20 degrees or more when the boat is moving... A scarf would be helpful to wrap your neck...
7. Cameras with plenty of extra film...
8. Bring anything you need to fill special requirements such as medications, special diet, etc.

Winter Time Weather: End of September - End of April

1. BRING WARM CLOTHES - YOU WILL BE COLD! - When the air temp is 70° the wind chill factor can drop that down to 50° or lower when the boat is moving! Note: People from Alaska, who always claim it's not cold here, beg for blankets when that boat starts moving in the cold & humid Florida air!
